Things to Know:
The Lincoln Home is on a street closed to all vehicles. Please park at the Visitor's Center parking lot (entrance is on 7th Street, which is one-way) or via street parking. There is a charge for the visitor's lot; the Springfield parking meters on the street are currently free of charge (as of 1/28/24). The visitor's center, film, house tour & neighborhood access are free of charge, but you still need to get your ticket at the Visitor's Center as tours are limited to around 15 people. Tickets can sell out in the Summer months, so it's recommended to secure your tickets early; you can always come back later for your tour. |
Below are videos created by The Civil War Project to spotlight the Lincoln Home. The first video talks about the early years of Illinois, Springfield & Abraham Lincoln, along with his courtship of Mary Todd Lincoln. The second video focuses on Abraham & Mary's life in the house during their 17 years there, and what happened to the house after Abraham's assassination. It also showcases my favorite things about the home, helpful tips for your visit, and ways to access tours remotely.
